Medical Disclaimer (Mute app)
Version dated July 20, 2026. An integral part of the User Agreement.
> This is an English translation provided for convenience. The legally binding version is the Russian one at https://mymute.app/legal/medical. In case of any discrepancy, the Russian version prevails.
1. Mute is not medicine
The Mute app — including all its materials (articles, reference guides, calendars, tips), trackers, questionnaires, and the AI companion — is informational and supportive in nature. The Service:
- is not a medical device, medical or psychological care, or a telemedicine service;
- does not diagnose, does not prescribe or discontinue treatment, and does not select or dose medications;
- does not replace consulting a doctor (pediatrician, obstetrician-gynecologist, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, or any other specialist).
All decisions about your health and your child's health belong to your doctor. If the App's materials differ from your doctor's advice — follow your doctor.
2. About the AI companion
The companion's replies are generated automatically by a language model. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong and are not professional advice. The companion exists for emotional support and everyday information, not for medical decision-making.
3. About trackers, reference guides, and questionnaires
- Trackers (sleep, feeding, nutrition, weight, medications, cycle, pregnancy, etc.) are a personal journal tool. Entered data and any derived calculations are approximate and do not constitute medical monitoring.
- Reference materials (including medication compatibility with breastfeeding, vaccination and check-up calendars) are compiled from reputable open sources and reviewed regularly, but may not reflect your individual situation or the latest clinical guidelines. Taking, stopping, or dosing any medication — only as directed by a doctor.
- The EPDS (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale) is a screening self-questionnaire, not a diagnosis. Any score is a reason to discuss how you feel with a specialist, not a conclusion about the presence or absence of a condition.
4. Emergencies
The App is not an emergency service. If there is a threat to your life or health, or your child's, immediately call your local emergency number (112 in Russia) or seek urgent medical care. In Russia, free round-the-clock emotional support is available at 8-800-2000-122. The App may show these contacts, but it cannot call for help on your behalf.
5. Liability
By using the App you confirm that you understand and accept this disclaimer. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator is not liable for the consequences of decisions made by you or third parties based on App materials or AI companion replies. Mandatory consumer rights are not limited hereby.
